A number of resources and services exist to introduce and help you and your students learn how to use Canvas effectively.  

What is Canvas?

Canvas LogoCanvas is SLCC’s learning platform or learning management system (commonly referred to as ‘LMS’). Some of the tools and features of Canvas include: a gradebook, discussion forums, web conferencing, quizzing, announcements, messaging, speedgrader (tool to easily grade assignment submissions), syllabus, calendar, and much more.

Canvas support is a call, click, email, or chat away. Listed below are a number of support resources available to assist SLCC students, faculty, and staff in using Canvas. As a reminder, Help Resources are embedded directly in Canvas (click "Help" in navigation menu).

New Features & Updates

Canvas is updated every three weeks with new features and updates. All new features or enhancements are first analyzed in a test environment, before they are launched in a production environment.
