We support the instructional development needs of our faculty, promoting evidence-based teaching practices with the goal of supporting student success. Our office connects faculty to courses, workshops, webinars, publications, and learning communities, all designed to bring the latest and best thinking on teaching and learning to SLCC. We also help faculty connect to the institution through orientation and onboarding. Our ultimate goal is to promote a culture of scholarly teaching. A scholarly teacher can explain her approach to instruction and anchor that explanation in the current scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). Scholarly teachers can also contribute to the growing body of knowledge on instruction.
