About the Provost Office

The Provost for Academic Affairs serves as the Chief Academic Officer providing leadership, stewardship, vision and direction for all academic departments and the responsibility for the quality of academic programs at SLCC. The Provost works closely with the President’s Executive Cabinet, administrators, faculty and staff to move forward the mission, vision, values and strategic direction of the College. The Provost Office works collaboratively to ensure the quality of faculty in recruitment, retention, promotion and tenure, and faculty performance. The Office of the Provost provides leadership to advance and support excellence in teaching and learning and moving academic priorities forward.

The leadership team of the Provost includes academic administrators who oversee curriculum, department accreditation activities, faculty initiatives, student learning outcomes, assessment activities and workforce development.

SLCC courses are taught by a variety of highly qualified faculty who hold doctorate degrees, masters degrees and industry credentials representing the leading edge in their fields. Credit and noncredit instructional programs are offered in both a traditional semester-based format and in an open entry/open exit format to meet the needs of the diverse student body.
