The Discussion Team

Utah Code 53B-2-106 authorizes the President to “2(d) to enact rules for administration and operation of the institution which are consistent with the prescribed role established by the board, rules enacted by the board, or the laws of the state.”

The Board of Trustees has authorized the President to establish the Discussion Team as a joint Administration/Faculty team empowered to provide recommendations to the President regarding full-time faculty compensation and workload. The team consists of two co-chairs, the Provost for Academic Affairs, and the Faculty Association President. Members of the Discussion Team include the Vice President for Finance and Administration, Associate Provost for Academic Operations, Assistant VP for Budget & Planning, a Dean, Faculty Association Vice President, Faculty Senate President, Faculty Senate Vice President, and a Faculty Member at Large. The team meets as needed to draft proposals for review by the President for possible inclusion into the Full-Time Faculty Handbook for Compensation and Workload. Once Presidential approval is received, the updates will be published on the Provost Office and Human Resources websites.
